Once a year we head to the hop fields, grab fresh harvested hops from Goschie Farms, and race back to beat the deadline! We used our English IPA malts for a sturdy, familiar base. For hops we employed 100lbs of fresh, wet, Centennial hops in 5bbls of this seasonal IPA. These hops along with Idaho 7, El Dorado, and Chinook bring out huge amounts of dank pine, mango, papaya, watermelon, and candied citrus. Only brewed once a year when itβs gone, itβs gone! Make sure to beat the Deadline Day!
Style: Fresh Hop IPA / ABV:5.5% / IBU: 50 / SRM: 8
History:
The Northwest is a rich growing territory for hops. Each year brewers travel out to the fields to get freshly harvested wet hops, pre kiln, to use for special once a year beers. Typically the hops we use are kilned and processed, these are still wet and whole and need to be used within 24 hours of harvest. This brings out completely unique characteristics not found in beer any other time a year.
